About Guna caves

Guna Caves, also known as Devil’s Kitchen, is a mysterious and scenic spot located in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu. Situated at an elevation of 2,200 meters, the caves are nestled between towering rock formations and dense Shola forests. The area gained fame after being featured in the 1991 Tamil film Guna, which led to its current name. Visitors can access the site via a 400-meter walk through pine forests, offering glimpses of the caves from a safe distance due to safety concerns. The caves are renowned for their eerie ambiance, with dark chambers and misty surroundings, making it a popular spot for adventure enthusiasts and photographers. However, caution is advised as the area has a history of accidents, leading to restricted access. The best time to visit is from April to June when the weather is pleasant.
