About Sky View Point

The Sky View Point (also known as the Sky Walk or Nohwet Viewpoint) is an eco-friendly tree-top viewing platform located near Mawlynnong, famously known as Asia's cleanest village. It stands roughly 80 to 85 feet high and is constructed entirely from bamboo poles and jute ropes by local residents without any metal nails. The viewpoint provides an unhindered, panoramic view of the Mawlynnong village canopy and the sprawling plains of neighbouring Bangladesh.

Since Dawki and nearby riverside destinations already attract heavy visitor movement, it is a short scenic stop in Meghalaya tour packages without requiring major detours or trekking effort.

Significance of Sky View Point

The Sky View Point in Mawlynnong, Meghalaya, often called the "Bangladesh View," is a significant eco-tourism landmark offering panoramic views of the Bangladesh plains from a unique 85-foot bamboo treehouse. It highlights sustainable tourism, providing a top-down perspective of natural landscapes and local culture.

Its importance also comes from visual openness. Unlike many Meghalaya locations surrounded by dense forests, Sky View Point offers uninterrupted horizon views, especially during clearer months.

One of the best trips I’ve taken. The itinerary was perfect, and every destination was unique. Kaziranga safari was the highlight. Highly recommend this 6N/7D tour package.

A well-organized tour with beautiful destinations. Shillong’s landscapes were stunning, and Kaziranga safari was exciting. Minor improvements needed in coordination, but overall very satisfying.
