About Sariska Tiger Reserve

Sariska Tiger Reserve, located in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, is a popular wildlife sanctuary nestled in the Aravalli hills. Spread over 800 square kilometers, the reserve is home to Bengal tigers, leopards, hyenas, jackals, deer, and many bird species. Originally a hunting ground for royals, it was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1955 and a tiger reserve in 1978 under Project Tiger. The landscape includes dry deciduous forests, grasslands, and rocky terrain. Along with its rich wildlife, Sariska also has historical sites like the Kankwari Fort and ancient temples, making it a perfect mix of nature, wildlife, and heritage.
