Puthen Maliga Palace Museum, also known as Kuthiramalika ("Mansion of Horses"), is a splendid example of traditional Kerala architecture located near the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram. Built in the 1840s by Maharaja Swathi Thirunal Rama Varma, the palace features 122 intricately carved wooden horses supporting its southern roof. Constructed using teakwood, rosewood, marble, and granite, the palace showcases exquisite craftsmanship. The museum houses royal artifacts, including life-size Kathakali mannequins, Belgian mirrors, crystal chandeliers, and two notable thrones—one made of ivory and another of Bohemian crystal. It also hosts the annual Swathi Sangeethotsavam music festival, celebrating the Maharaja's musical legacy.
