About Pushkar Lake

Pushkar Lake, or Pushkar Sarovar, is a sacred water body in Pushkar, Rajasthan, deeply rooted in Hindu mythology. According to legend, the lake emerged from a lotus dropped by Lord Brahma, making it one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in India. Surrounded by 52 ghats and over 500 temples, it is especially significant during Kartik Poornima, when thousands of devotees gather for ritual baths. The lake is also central to the annual Pushkar Fair, attracting pilgrims and tourists alike.
