If you continue driving on the Sangla- Chitkul Road from Kaza. After 7 hours, you reach the ‘Hindustan ka Akhri Dhaba.’ It is located in Chitkul Village, Himachal Pradesh, just 1 minute walkin distance from the bus stand. The tea, the samosa, and the pakoda, everything you get here is the same as in other parts of India. The Dhaba is famous because of its unique location. You can see the snow-covered mountains and the Baspa River. Take a chair and sit outside the dhaba and enjoy the nature view.
It is on the Indo-Tibet border, 600 km away from Delhi. Anyone who is planning a Spiti trip from Delhi or any part of India should add this place to their Spiti Valley tour packages. Believe us, the feeling of being here can't be expressed in words. Just visit here, you will know!
Hindustan Ka Akhri Dhaba became popular because of its location in Chitkul village, close to the Indo-Tibet border region. Over time, travellers started recognising it as a symbolic final food stop before the restricted border areas ahead.
The dhaba itself is simple and locally operated, but it gained attention through road trip culture and social media travel routes in Himachal Pradesh. Today, it is one of the most visited stop points in Chitkul for tea breaks, mountain views, and travel photographs.
June to September is the only window. The Manali-Leh Highway stays open during these months. July and August are peak season with maximum road traffic. Visit between 12 PM and 3 PM when most road trippers stop for lunch. October sees the highway closing. After that, the dhaba shuts for the season entirely.
A drive of around 24 km from Sangla takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Private taxis and self-drive vehicles easily reach Chitkul through the Sangla Valley road.
