Gagyel Lhundrup Weaving Centre, nestled at the southern end of Thimphu’s Changzamtok district, is a private hub for traditional Bhutanese textile artistry. Established over two decades ago by master weaver Kezang Lhundrup, it employs both in‑house artisans and local home‑based weavers. Visitors can observe the intricate backstrap-loom weaving process—using vibrant silk, cotton, and natural dyes—and admire the skill behind ceremonial gho and kira fabrics, including those made for the royal family. Upstairs, a shop offers scarves, belts, jackets, and home textiles. It operates weekdays from 9 AM to 6 PM and provides an enriching insight into Bhutan’s rich textile heritage.

Immigration was smooth, thanks to our guide who handled everything so well. Hotel check-ins and meals were hassle-free, with staff being flexible and kind. Our guide made the journey even better by sharing insights about local culture and food. Viacation’s team checked in on us daily and was always available for support—truly commendable!
