About Darwan Singh Museum

The Darwan Singh Museum, also known as the Garhwal Regimental Museum, is a prominent military museum located in Lansdowne, Uttarakhand. Established in 1983, it honors the legacy of Darwan Singh Negi, the first Indian to receive the Victoria Cross during World War I. The museum showcases a rich collection of artifacts, including old uniforms, weapons, photographs, and medals, highlighting the valor and history of the Garhwal Rifles regiment. Situated near the Parade Ground, it offers visitors a glimpse into India's military heritage. The museum is open daily from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with an entry fee of ₹50 per person.
