About Hakgala Botanical Garden

Hakgala Botanical Garden, nestled along the misty slopes of Nuwara Eliya, is the second-largest botanical garden in Sri Lanka and a haven of natural beauty. Spread across terraced hills, it features over 10,000 species of exotic flora, including vibrant orchids, roses, ferns, and towering trees. Steeped in Ramayana legend, the garden is believed to be part of Ravana’s Ashok Vatika.
