About Galle Lighthouse

The Galle Fort Lighthouse, located within the historic Galle Fort on Sri Lanka’s southern coast, is one of the most iconic landmarks in the country. Standing tall against the backdrop of the Indian Ocean, this elegant white structure is the oldest lighthouse in Sri Lanka and continues to guide ships safely into Galle Harbour.

The lighthouse is located inside Galle Fort, about 120 km south of Colombo, easily accessible by train, car, or bus.
