IndiGo confirmed as launch carrier for Noida International Airport, beginning operations June 15, 2026, with 16+ domestic routes. The airline becomes the first carrier at NCR's third airport, located in Jewar on the Yamuna Expressway.
The first commercial arrival will be an IndiGo flight originating from Lucknow on June 15, 2026. The airline will progressively introduce direct flights to more than 16 destinations across India, including key metro cities such as Bengaluru and Hyderabad, as well as tier-2 and tier-3 destinations, including Amritsar, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Jaipur, Lucknow, Navi Mumbai, Pantnagar, and Srinagar.
A broader expansion of the flight network is slated for July 1, 2026, with cities such as Navi Mumbai, Srinagar, Jodhpur, Dharamshala, Bhopal, Dehradun, Jaipur, Pantnagar, and Chandigarh integrated into daily operations.
With the commencement of services at NIA, IndiGo will now serve all three airports in the NCR, including Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport and Hindon. The new airport location benefits eastern Delhi, Noida, and western UP residents who currently route through IGI.
Bookings are open. IndiGo typically opens bookings 60 days in advance, so tickets for June 15 flights are already available.
Post-launch expansion plans envision service growth to 30+ destinations within 18 months of operations. This positions Noida International as a significant hub, not just a satellite airport.
The airport's master plan includes multiple runways and higher passenger capacity. IndiGo's commitment as launch carrier validates commercial viability, but the real test is whether other airlines follow and whether traffic actually shifts from IGI.
For travelers: evaluate airport access based on your location. If you're in Noida, Ghaziabad, or eastern NCR, this cuts travel time. If you're in Gurugram or west Delhi, IGI remains more convenient.
