The breathtaking Valley of Flowers National Park is now welcoming visitors from June 1 to October 31 for 2026. For those eager to witness nature's colorful spectacle, the prime months to plan your trek are July and August when the flora is at its most vibrant.
Your adventure typically kicks off at Govindghat, from where you can travel by car or shared taxi to Pulna, the last village accessible by road, located 4 kilometers away. The trek to Ghangaria spans approximately 10 kilometers, followed by a short 3.5-kilometer hike that leads you into the heart of the Valley of Flowers.
The journey is adorned with stunning views, but be cautious—the trails can become slippery during rainfall, hence, investing in proper trekking equipment is advisable. As overnight camping in the valley is not permitted, it’s best to set out early in the day.
Before you embark on this journey, a nominal entry fee is required at the Forest Department checkpoint near Ghangaria. Make sure to carry a government-issued form of identification, such as an Aadhaar card, passport, or driver's license, to obtain your permit and pay the entry fee.
Whether you are looking for an adventurous trek or simply wish to immerse yourself in a sea of flowers, the Valley of Flowers offers an unforgettable experience for all nature enthusiasts.
