Kedarnath is a very special place for those who believe in Lord Shiva. It is located at 3,583 meters above sea level and is one of the holiest Hindu temples. The temple was originally built by the Pandavas from the Mahabharata and later restored by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. People from all over India come to pray here. The journey to Kedarnath starts from Gaurikund, the last motorable point. From there, visitors have to walk 16 km to reach the temple. For those who cannot trek, helicopter services, ponies, and palanquins are also available. The temple is surrounded by breathtaking mountains covered in snow, and the Mandakini River flows nearby, adding to its beauty.
