About Van Vihar

Van Vihar National Park, located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, is a unique blend of a national park and a zoological garden. Established in 1981, it spans approximately 4.45 square kilometers and is situated adjacent to the Upper Lake, a Ramsar site. The park is renowned for its conservation efforts, housing rescued animals such as tigers, lions, and sloth bears, and serving as a breeding center for endangered species like the Hard Ground Barasingha and Gyps vultures. Visitors can explore the park via walking trails or a vehicle-friendly road, observing a variety of herbivores and carnivores in naturalistic enclosures. The park also features a bird interpretation center, reptile enclosures, and a butterfly park, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts and wildlife photographers.
