Pura Luhur Uluwatu is one of Bali’s most spectacular sea temples, beautifully located on a steep cliff about 70 meters above. Uluwatu Temple is dedicated to Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa, the supreme god in Balinese Hinduism. Built in the 11th century, it is one of the 6 key temples believed to protect the island from devils and evil spirits.
Another major highlight is the Kecak Fire Dance, performed every evening against the setting sun. Kekak is a cultural performance that brings Balinese mythology to life through rhythmic chanting and mesmerising fire displays.

You can hire a taxi or private car from Denpasar, Kuta, or Seminyak. The temple is around 45 minutes from the airport and well-connected by main roads.
Modest attire is required. Visitors must wear a sarong and sash, which are provided at the entrance. Avoid loose jewellery or sunglasses as monkeys might grab them.
