About Swoyambhu Mahachaitya

Swoyambhu Mahachaitya, also known as the Monkey Temple, is a revered Buddhist stupa located atop a hill in Kathmandu, Nepal. One of the oldest religious sites in the country, it dates back over 2,000 years and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The stupa's iconic white dome and gilded spire, adorned with the all-seeing eyes of the Buddha, symbolize wisdom and compassion. Surrounded by shrines, prayer wheels, and fluttering prayer flags, Swoyambhu offers a serene atmosphere and panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley.
