About Suicide Point

Suicide Point is a famous point in Himachal. This is situated at an altitude of 9,000 feet. A well-known photo point for travellers. The point is located around 3 km from the Kalpa Village and 2 km from the Roghi Village. To reach this point, you don't need to leave your vehicle on the road. Because it is on the road where a sign says “I Love Kinnaur.” Here are some more names based on the location

Significance of Suicide Point

The name it got not because of lots of suicide here. It got its name because of its terrifying mountains and roads. If you fall from there, there is no chance of your escaping. There is no fence on the side of the road. Due to its risky roads and terrain, it is known as the Suicide Point.

To be honest, the place has no historical significance. Today, the point is visited by travellers to see the mountains, for photography, and for thrilling driving.


Best Time to Visit

As per the travellers, April to June and September to November are suitable for visiting. Visiting in the morning and late afternoon hours gives clearer mountain views. You should avoid the monsoon and the early winter snowfall, as roads may become risky. As there might be a landslide that temporarily blocks the roads.


How to Reach Suicide Point

You can take a short 3–5 km drive from Kalpa, which takes around 15–20 minutes. The Local taxis from Reckong Peo and Kalpa are easily available for reaching the viewpoint. You can come here with your own bike or car. It will be thrilling.
