Spiti Valley is located high in the Himalayas, which makes it a stargazer’s paradise. On clear nights, the sky transforms into a glittering canvas, showing off countless stars, planets, and even the Milky Way in all its glory. What makes stargazing here so special, especially in Kaza and Chandratal? These are the regions with high altitude (around 12,500 feet), extremely low light pollution, and crystal-clear mountain air that create perfect conditions for watching the night sky.
To experience this phenomenal activity, check out our Spiti Valley Packages. Local guides, who know these skies like the back of their hand, will help you spot constellations and share fascinating stories about them. You don’t need fancy equipment – just grab a warm blanket, find a cozy spot, and look up. If you have a good camera phone, you can capture these nights using pro mode. During peak season (May to October), you might even catch sight of shooting stars or rare astronomical events.
Spiti Valley is a village, and there’s no entry fee to visit it. And Stargazing in Spiti is also free. Night camping for stargazing costs around INR 1500-3000 per night.

Great Trip. Very Adventurous indeed. Sent that postcard from Hikkim to my grandmother who has always wanted to travel but couldn't. She called me crying. That one small thing made me emotional the whole evening. The package was great but that moment is what I'll carry forever. Thank you Viacation.

Being from Sikkim I thought I knew cold. Spiti in winter is another level completely. What I loved was how untouched everything felt. No crowds at any of the monasteries, no noise in Kibber, just snow and silence everywhere. Viacation planned this beautifully.
