It is a 20–30 minute drive from Leh town, easily reached by hiring a private taxi or riding a motorcycle. It is often visited alongside Thiksey Monastery and Hemis Monastery, costing ₹1,500–₹3,000 for half-day monastery circuits covering Shey, Thiksey, and nearby attractions.
