The Seth Bhandasar Jain Temple in Bikaner, Rajasthan, is a 15th-century architectural marvel dedicated to the 5th Jain Tirthankara, Sumatinath. Commissioned by the wealthy merchant Seth Bhandasa Oswal, the temple is renowned for its intricate frescoes, gold leaf work, and mirror embellishments. Legend holds that 40,000 kg of ghee were used instead of water in the mortar during its construction. Built in the shekhari style, the three-storied red sandstone structure features ornate pillars, domes, and a sanctum adorned with vivid depictions of Jain cosmology and local life. Managed by the Jain Oswal community, it remains a significant spiritual and cultural landmark.
