About Rancho School

Rancho School, officially known as Druk Padma Karpo School, is located in Shey village, about 15 km from Leh, Ladakh. Founded in 2001 by His Holiness Drukpa Thuksey Rinpoche, the school gained fame after being featured in the Bollywood film 3 Idiots. Beyond its cinematic recognition, the school is renowned for its innovative education model that blends modern learning with Ladakhi culture and Buddhist values. The campus, designed with sustainable architecture, includes the iconic "Rancho Wall" and offers a visitor center and café. In 2025, the school achieved CBSE affiliation, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to holistic education .
