Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island, formerly known as Ross Island, is a historically rich destination located just 3 kilometers east of Port Blair in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Once the administrative headquarters of the British from 1858 to 1942, the island showcases remnants of colonial architecture, including a church, bakery, and officer's quarters, now enveloped by lush greenery. Renamed in 2018 to honor Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, who hoisted the Indian tricolor here in 1943, the island stands as a testament to India's freedom struggle. Visitors can explore the 'Smritika' museum, witness the mesmerizing light and sound show depicting its storied past, and encounter free-roaming deer amidst the ruins. Accessible via a short ferry ride from Port Blair, the island offers a poignant blend of natural beauty and historical significance.

Had a great trip to Andaman with Viacation! We visited Port Blair, Cellular Jail, and the beautiful Havelock Island. Radhanagar Beach was absolutely stunning and perfect for relaxing. The team managed everything really well – from hotel bookings to ferry transfers. Cellular Jail’s light and sound show was emotional and worth attending. Loved how smooth the entire experience was. Highly recommend Viacation for Andaman travel!
