Langza Village is a high-altitude village in Spiti Valley. Located at around 4,400 metres above sea level. It is known for wide mountain views, fossil sites, and the large Buddha statue overlooking the valley. The village remains small, with mud houses, limited roads, and a slow daily routine shaped by the weather.
Langza is 16 kilometers from Kaza, the main town in Spiti Valley. Kaza is 200 kilometers from Manali. The drive from Manali to Kaza takes around eight to nine hours on mountain roads. Spiti Valley tour packages generally use Kaza as the base. From Kaza, a shared cab or private vehicle covers the distance to Langza in about 30 minutes.
Langza Village is known for its fossil history and traditional Spitian lifestyle. Fossils found here are believed to date back millions of years, from the time when this region was covered by the Tethys Sea before the Himalayas formed.
The village also reflects the Buddhist culture of the Spiti Valley. Prayer flags, mud homes, and monasteries remain part of daily life here. Over time, Langza became popular among travellers looking for village stays, mountain landscapes, and quieter routes away from crowded hill stations.
June to September is the best time. Roads from Manali to Spiti are open during this period. Temperatures in Langza sit between 10 and 20 degrees Celsius in summer. Visit between 8 AM and 11 AM for clear views of the Buddha statue and the valley. Winter closes all roads, and the village becomes completely cut off from October onwards.
Langza is 16 kilometers(35 minutes) from Kaza in the Spiti Valley. From Kaza, a private cab costs ₹2,000 to ₹4,000 for a day trip. Shared cabs are available from the Kaza market in the morning for ₹800 to ₹1,200 per seat. Kaza is connected to Manali by road via Rohtang Pass. The drive takes eight to nine hours. No railway or airport serves Spiti directly.

Great Trip. Very Adventurous indeed. Sent that postcard from Hikkim to my grandmother who has always wanted to travel but couldn't. She called me crying. That one small thing made me emotional the whole evening. The package was great but that moment is what I'll carry forever. Thank you Viacation.

Being from Sikkim I thought I knew cold. Spiti in winter is another level completely. What I loved was how untouched everything felt. No crowds at any of the monasteries, no noise in Kibber, just snow and silence everywhere. Viacation planned this beautifully.
