Standing tall at 38 meters, the Kavaratti Lighthouse is a prominent beacon on Kavaratti Island, the administrative capital of Lakshadweep. Commissioned in 1988, this cylindrical white tower with a red lantern roof replaced an earlier wooden structure built in 1976 to support growing maritime traffic. Climbing its spiral staircase rewards visitors with sweeping views of turquoise lagoons, white sandy beaches, and swaying coconut palms. Open to the public in the evenings, the lighthouse becomes an ideal vantage point to witness breathtaking sunsets over the Arabian Sea, blending history, functionality, and scenic beauty into one unforgettable experience.
