About Kathmandu Durbar Square

Kathmandu Durbar Square, located in the heart of Nepal’s capital, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its stunning architecture and historical significance. Once the royal palace of the Malla kings, the square features a rich blend of temples, courtyards, and palaces, showcasing intricate woodwork and traditional Newari craftsmanship. Key attractions include the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Taleju Temple, and the residence of the living goddess, Kumari. Despite suffering damage in the 2015 earthquake, Kathmandu Durbar Square remains a cultural and spiritual hub, offering visitors a glimpse into Nepal’s regal past and vibrant heritage. It's a must-visit for history enthusiasts.
