Hadrian’s Arch, located in Athens, Greece, is a monumental gateway built in 131 AD to honor the Roman Emperor Hadrian for his contributions to the city. Made of fine Pentelic marble, the arch stands 18 meters high and blends classical Greek and Roman architectural styles. It marked the boundary between ancient Athens and the new Roman city built by Hadrian. Inscriptions on either side of the arch distinguish the old city of Theseus from Hadrian's new Athens. Positioned near the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch is a symbol of imperial gratitude and remains a prominent historical landmark in Athens.
