Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape, located about 60 km southwest of Baku, Azerbaijan, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient rock engravings. The site features over 6,000 petroglyphs carved into rocks, dating back from 5,000 to 40,000 years ago. These engravings depict scenes of hunting, dancing, rituals, animals, and daily life, offering a glimpse into early human civilization in the region. Gobustan also contains ancient cave dwellings, mud volcanoes, and natural gas vents. It is a significant archaeological and cultural treasure that reflects the rich prehistoric heritage of Azerbaijan and the artistic expression of early human societies.
