About Eravikulam National Park

Eravikulam National Park is one of Kerala’s most beautiful natural treasures, located near Munnar. Known for its hills, misty meadows, and rare wildlife, the park gives an unforgettable experience to nature and photography lovers. It’s especially famous as the home of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr, a species you won’t spot anywhere else so easily.

The national park was once a private hunting ground for British officials and later became a wildlife sanctuary in 1975 before being declared a national park. Today, it covers an area of about 97 square kilometres, filled with shola forests, high-altitude grasslands, and streams that glisten under the sun.

Eravikulam National Park is a must-visit in most Kerala Tour Packages because of its scenic beauty and biodiversity. The trek to the Anamudi Peak is the highest point in South India, and the views of Munnar’s tea estates make it a true paradise for travellers.
