About Dubare Elephant Camp

Nestled on the banks of the River Cauvery in Karnataka’s Coorg district, Dubare Elephant Camp offers a unique and unforgettable wildlife experience. Managed by the Karnataka Forest Department and Jungle Lodges and Resorts, this camp is home to a number of trained elephants once used by the Mysore Dasara procession. Visitors can interact closely with these gentle giants—feeding, bathing, and even taking short elephant rides under supervision. The camp is also a haven for nature lovers, with opportunities for birdwatching, coracle rides, and forest trekking. Surrounded by lush greenery and tranquil waters, it’s an ideal retreat for families, wildlife enthusiasts, and photographers. The camp blends adventure with education, offering insight into elephant behavior, conservation efforts, and the importance of wildlife protection in a serene riverside setting.
