The Chembra Peak trek is of moderate difficulty. It involves a steep 4.5 km climb taking about 3–4 hours. Beginners can complete it with basic fitness and guidance from local forest officials.
The trekking fee for Chembra Peak is around ₹750 per group of 10 people, which includes entry permits, eco charges, and a mandatory forest guide from Meppadi base.
The Agasthyakoodam Trek in Thiruvananthapuram is the toughest in Kerala. Stretching over 28 km, it passes through dense forests, steep trails, and rich biodiversity, requiring prior permission from the forest department.
The best time to visit Wayanad is from October to May. During these months, the weather is cool, dry, and perfect for trekking, wildlife safaris, waterfall visits, and sightseeing. Avoid the monsoon (June–September) due to heavy rains and slippery trails.
