About Bridge of Peace

The Bridge of Peace in Tbilisi, Georgia, is a striking pedestrian bridge that spans the Kura River, connecting the historic Old Town with the modern Rike Park. Officially opened on May 6, 2010, the 150-meter-long bridge was designed by Italian architect Michele De Lucchi. Its curvaceous steel and glass canopy is illuminated by 1,208 LED fixtures, creating dynamic light displays that symbolize unity and peace. The bridge offers panoramic views of landmarks such as Metekhi Church, Narikala Fortress, and the Statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali. It has become a symbol of Tbilisi's blend of tradition and modernity.
