About Birla Mandir, Varanasi

Birla Mandir, also known as New Vishwanath Temple, is a serene and majestic temple located within the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) campus in Varanasi. Built by the Birla family, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is a replica of the original Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Constructed with white marble, the temple exudes peace and spiritual charm. Unlike traditional temples, it welcomes people of all castes and religions, symbolizing unity and openness. The temple complex also houses shrines of other deities like Lakshmi Narayan, Lord Hanuman, and Saraswati. Its architecture blends modern design with spiritual significance, making it a peaceful spot for prayer and meditation. Surrounded by lush greenery, Birla Mandir offers a tranquil escape from the city's hustle and bustle, attracting students, pilgrims, and tourists alike.
