About Tibetan Medical Centre

The Tibetan Medical Centre, known as Men-Tsee-Khang, is a renowned institution dedicated to preserving and practicing Sowa Rigpa—the ancient Tibetan system of medicine and astrology. Originally established in Lhasa in 1916, it was re-established in 1961 in Dharamshala, India, under the guidance of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. The centre offers holistic healthcare services, blending herbal remedies, dietary advice, and spiritual practices. With over 50 branch clinics across India and Nepal, Men-Tsee-Khang also engages in research, education, and the production of traditional medicines, aiming to promote well-being and preserve Tibetan medical heritage.
